Research Participant Registry Core
7. Brain Organization in ADHD
Description:
Dr. Jessica Cohen and colleagues in UNC Chapel Hill’s Psychology and Neuroscience Department are recruiting children with ADHD and typically developing children without ADHD between the ages of 8 and 12 years to participate in a research study. The purpose of this study is to learn whether there are differences in brain organization in children with and without ADHD. The study involves 1 six hour day and 2 two hour days of computer games, paper & pencil tasks, IQ testing, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) brain scans. All testing is done free of charge.
Recruiting Info:
We are currently recruiting boys and girls ages 8-12 who have not yet gone through puberty, and who either have ADHD, or who do not have ADHD (to participate as “comparison participants”). We ask that participants who have ADHD have never taken medication for their ADHD. To learn more, please contact Kelly at 919-843-3753 or by email (cohenlab@unc.edu).
