The Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities offers a wide array of services to families, communities, and individuals to address the challenges of developmental disabilities.

CDL - Center for Development and Learning

The CDL is dedicated to providing services that improve the lives of children and adults who have a broad range of learning differences, behavioral concerns, and developmental disabilities. The CDL offers a wide selection of exemplary clinical evaluation services. Evaluation services may include appointments with individual clinicians, select teams of two or three clinicians, or a full interdisciplinary team representing four or more of the following ten professional disciplines; Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Nursing, Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Education, Audiology, Social Work, Nutrition, and Psychiatry.

TEACCH - Treatment and Education for Autistic and related Communication-handicapped CHildren

TEACCH provides evidence-based service for individuals of all ages and skill levels with autism spectrum disorders and has worked with thousands of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families. TEACCH provides clinical services such as diagnostic evaluations, parent training and parent support groups, social play and recreation groups, individual counseling for higher-functioning clients, and supported employment.

FSN - Family Support Network

Family Support Network Local Affiliates provide support for North Carolina families with children who have special needs. Program activities include Parent-to-Parent support, information and referral, sibling workshops, support groups, and training workshops for families and service providers. These community-based family support organizations are housed in local or regional hospitals, regional Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs), local Arcs, and local Smart Start Partnerships. Programs are funded with both public and private funds.
